Mem Memoirs: Issue 3 — Bi & Pan Stories

The “Mem Memoirs” booklet is a product of the oral history documentation project of Masahat for Sexual and Gender Diversity in the Nile Valley (Egypt and Sudan), recording stories of the lived, human experiences of LGBTQ+ people from many governorates across Egypt. The booklets shine a light on marginalised groups within the community (trans women, bisexual people, pansexual people, non-binary people and genderfluid people) and create a space for their voices to be heard in public.

The third issue of Mem Memoirs shares the stories of bisexual and pansexual people, tracing journeys full of many different struggles and victories. The stories are rich with details of how they discovered themselves, the stigma they face inside and outside the queer community, and their relationships with their bodies. Their journey is the journey of each of us in the queer community, because every one of our stories is, in itself, the history we are trying to preserve.

Because we’re in this together
