Mem Memoirs: Issue 4 — Against the Mould

The “Mem Memoirs” booklet is a product of the oral history documentation project of Masahat for Sexual and Gender Diversity in the Nile Valley (Egypt and Sudan), recording stories of the lived, human experiences of LGBTQ+ people from many governorates across Egypt. The booklets shine a light on marginalised groups within the community (trans women, bisexual people, pansexual people, non-binary people and genderfluid people) and create a space for their voices to be heard in public.

In the fourth issue of Mem Memoirs we turn every spotlight on the stories of people who fight stereotypes and those who hold them: people who stand up every day against the moulding of identities and orientations, and who show up bravely in a society driven by masculinity and patriarchy.

Because we’re in this together
